Come, Follow Me 2021 The Family: A Proclamation to the World Resources and Insights,

Last week, we discussed the Articles of Faith and how the Lord continues to give His prophets revelation. We also discussed Declaration 1 and 2.
This week, we will be diving in and studying and discussing The Family: A Proclamation to the World.
Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.
Day 1:
There is so much pulling at our families. I truly believe that “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” was divinely inspired and inspired for the days we are living in. I love that it reaffirms the importance of families in God’s eternal plan and that it emphasizes that we are children of Heavenly Parents.
The test is that we each gain a our own testimony of the things taught within the family proclamation and that we stand firm and live by them. I really wish that everyone could have that knowledge that they are children of Heavenly parents! Just think what our world would be like, if everyone understood their divine nature ♥️

Day 2:
Family!!! Boy do I learn a lot from my family. I would dare to say, that a lot of my growth and progression has occurred because of my family.
As I’ve been studying the Christlike attribute this year, many of those attributes are practiced within the family. Such as love, patience, humility, just to name a few.
I think our families can be a fabulous support to us as well & help keep us on the right track to exaltation.
I have to say, I was proud of my youngest son today, as well as a little disappointed in myself. A Christmas show came on the TV, after one that we had been watching. It’s rating wasn’t bad & it came on right after a family friendly show. We had never seen it before. After watching it for a little bit, I really should have turned it off, but I didn’t & my youngest came in and after watching for just a second, he looked at me and said, “I don’t like it”. I said, “we should turn it off, huh” & he said “ya”, so we did. I’m grateful for him speaking up and saying what I had already felt myself. That it wasn’t something that we really wanted to watch or should be watching. We’ve really tried to make our house a place where the spirit can dwell, which I think makes you more sensitive to things that don’t inspire and uplift you.
I loved pondering on how the family is central to our Father’s plan. As we learn of the plan and look at the eternal perspective. We realize that all of the blessings and happiness we will experience in the eternities will be in eternal families. Eternal families are part of exaltation. Being sealed and bound to each other. As I learn of my ancestors I already feel that connection with them. Family relationships matter and I think that our Heavenly Father wants us to strengthen those relationships. To give grace and forgiveness to our family members ♥️ To look at and emphasize each other’s strengths and support each other in our weaknesses.

Day 3:
Years ago I found that the church has an amazing resource on their website titled, “Happiness in Family Life” (I’ll link to it below). On it, it goes through each of the principles found in The Family Proclamation. Giving great quotes from church leaders for each one. I love this resource so much!!
In The Family Proclamation it says, “Happiness in Family Life
is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.”
Tonight, in our family discussion we talked about each of these principle and how if we live by them, it could bring more happiness to our family. I think each one is so important to practice in family life. As we read through them and talked about them as a family tonight, my testimony was strengthened of each of the principles. I really want to reflect on how I am doing with each one, with each of my family members. Do I need to have more compassion with any of my family members? Maybe focus on coming up with some wholesome activity time?
Our families are so important!! As we learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ together in our families, we can strengthen each other to remain on the covenant path. We can create a home where the spirit is present.
Something that I think is so important to remember is that there is no “perfect” family, because there are no “perfect” people. But we can try to strengthen and support each other. We can forgive, we can repent, we can show compassion to each other. Life is about progression and how much better life is, to progress with each other in our families.

Day 4:
Do we see our spouse as a child of God? What about our children? Simply seeing our family members as daughters and sons of God, can have a profound effect on how we treat them.
I like this quote I found in L. Tom Perry’s talk! I found it very insightful. 💕 How we treat our family members matter, it matters so much that there are eternal consequences.

Day 5:
I love this beautiful quote! It is a message of hope. It is comforting to know that everyone will have the opportunity to have all that the Father has for them. Whether it be in this life or the next.
It’s also comforting to know that, “the Atonement of Jesus Christ has anticipated and, in the end, will compensate all deprivation and loss for those who turn to Him.” (Elder D. Todd Christofferson) ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Day 6:
I am one who does not like confrontation or contention! I believe that we can stand up for and be defenders of “marriage, parenthood and the home” without being contentious. We do this by the way we live our lives in accordance with the principles taught in the Family Proclamation.
Our Savior is always our greatest example. He taught the doctrine and principles of the gospel with love, as well as with sincerity. He cared more about doing His Father’s will, then offending man. ♥️
I have a testimony of The Family: A Proclamation to the World. It simply states our Father’s plan and ideal for families. I’m grateful for my family and all though we are not perfect, we are trying to follow our Savior. We are trying to strengthen our home, family & each other. 💕
