Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 93 Resources and Insights,

Last week, we discussed the Word of Wisdom and the promised blessings that come to us as we live the principle. We also learned about how the First Presidency holds the "key of the kingdom" and how they give us guidance and protection, as we listen and follow their counsel.

This week, we will be learning about how we learn line upon line. Gaining greater understanding, light and knowledge. The importance of worshipping our Father in Heaven and Savior and how to set in order our own house.

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

W-H-O are you?!? When I was typing this phrase out, I couldn’t help but think of Alice in Wonderland. Alice was asked this very question on her journey down the rabbit hole.

It is a question that we must ask ourselves as we are on our own journey of mortality. Do we know who we are? My mom used to say to me, “Remember who you are and who’s you are.” I KNOW who I am! ❤️ I know who I am, because I have a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I have felt His love for me & I have felt of the love that He has for others. I have received blessings that have specifically spoke of my Father in Heaven’s love for me. I have seen and acknowledge my Father’s hand frequently in my life.

I am a beloved daughter of Heavenly Parents. Because of my divine nature, I know that I have divine potential. Even though it’s kind of hard to really comprehend that with my mortal mind.

I know that everyone can gain that knowledge of who they are and who’s they are. Every single one of us are loved by our Heavenly Parents. We are their children and we have the potential to become like them ♥️

I really wish that everyone had this knowledge. There is a joy that just flows through one’s life with this knowledge. I think it is what helps me push on through trials and press on in a crazy world. It gives me strength.

If you are struggling, please know you are loved by your Heavenly Parents! Take some time to really gain a testimony of your divine nature and destiny! It can make all of the difference!!

I found a fabulous talk, it is a must read!! You can also listen to it. Here’s the link:

Day 2:

What do you set your heart and trust in? This is a great question for some reflection and a great thing to even ask our family members to ponder on.

Sometimes, we need to have a realignment and re-focus in our lives. Something I heard this past weekend was, the importance of aligning ourselves with Christ, who is in perfect alignment with God.

To align ourselves with Christ we need to keep our covenants. We can be reminded of our baptismal covenants each Sunday as we partake of the sacrament. For me I try to think of them often throughout the week as well. To think and ask myself some questions. Am I remembering my Savior? Am I taking His name upon me? Am I trying to keep His commandments? From those questions I can make some adjustments in my life. This life is about making adjustments, repenting and progressing. As we set our Hearts and Trust in our Savior and Heavenly Father we will draw closer to them, they will be who we worship and we will be better disciples. ♥️

Here’s a great little article where I found this quote:

Day 3:

We receive light and truth by way of faith. It is given to us, line upon line. Isn’t it a wonderful thing, that there is always something to learn, truth to be understood & knowledge and insight to gain?!

When I think of light and truth, I think of my testimony. My testimony I receive a little at a time, it’s added upon and strengthened as I live the gospel, keeping my covenants and obeying the commandments. It is strengthened by way of faith and prayer. The spirit, is the witness of truth. By the spirit we can gain a witness of the truth of all things.

So, if we desire to have light and truth in our life, we must live worthy of the influence of the Holy Ghost ♥️♥️♥️

Here is a great lesson that speaks of light & truth. It is where I found the quote by Elder Stephen L Richards:

Day 4:

Why do I gather my family together every day to discuss the scriptures and to just talk about their day? I do it because I feel the urgency to make sure we have the light and truth of the gospel in our lives each day. I do it because I’ve heard the warning cries of prophets, reminding us time and time again, to teach our children light and truth, that it is our primary responsibility to teach our children. I do it, because in a darkening world, we need it! And despite sometimes feeling like they aren’t listening and I’m just rambling, I know that, that time together is important! That they know that we as their parents are invested in them. It gives us time to talk, to find out what is going on in our teenage boys’ lives.

I am grateful for the Come, Follow Me program! I’m grateful for our inspired prophet and his encouragement to study together as a family, to make learning and living the gospel something we do everyday. 😊♥️

Here’s an excellent thing to study on this topic, it’s the teaching of Joseph Fielding Smith:

Day 5:

Something I always remember growing up was being taught that when we left our grandparents homes, we would give them hugs and tell them we love them. I am grateful for that! I love that in Elder Bednar’s talk he speaks of one of the things that is important in our home, is to express love to each other!

I think that we each yearn to know that we are loved, especially by our family members. I ALWAYS tell my kiddos I love them as they leave our house and when I tell them goodnight. Hopefully, there is no doubt in their minds of my love for them, because they hear it often and by the things I do for them!

I think that telling our family members that we love them, helps to bring unity to the family, it draws us closer together.

Elder Bednar says it best about love, “We need to say it, we need to mean it, and most importantly we need consistently to show it. We need to both express and demonstrate love.”

Here’s the link to his talk:

Who could you show love to or tell them you love them?

Day 6:

A big misunderstanding is that a testimony is something that is born on Fast Sunday. Yes, testimonies can be born on fast Sunday, but that is not what a testimony is. A testimony is, “a spiritual witness given by the Holy Ghost.” (Gospel Topics:Testimony)

We can gain a testimony of many gospel principles. We can share that testimony during Fast & Testimony meeting, it’s a great opportunity to share the spiritual witness we have gained. But it can be shared any time, as well!! And it should be shared with our families!

Elder Bednar says that it is one way we can be more diligent and concerned at home. He says, “Within the walls of our own homes, we can and should bear pure testimony of the divinity and reality of the Father and the Son, of the great plan of happiness, and of the Restoration.”

Tonight, we discussed sharing our testimonies with each other and one of my kiddos said, “well I don’t have my testimony memorized”. We then had a great conversation about what a testimony is. That whenever we share with each other what we know to be true, we are sharing our testimony. To give an example, we asked him if he believes in Heavenly Father. He said, yes. We then explained that, that is a testimony. To believe that you have a Heavenly Father.

We can have a testimony of many things within the gospel. We can gain testimony of other things and we should be seeking to always strengthen our testimony. I think we have such wonderful opportunities in our homes to share what we believe and invite our children to share with each other what they believe. As we share what we believe it strengthens each other’s testimonies. It allows the spirit to give further witness!

Here’s that link to Elder Bednar’s talk again:
