Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 67–70 Resources and Insights

Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 67–70 Resources and Insights,

Last week, we studied about the importance of forgiveness! We also studied about the importance of having a willing mind and heart and our part in preparing the way for the Lord.

This week, we will be learning about the revelation to publish the revelations into a book "The Book of Commandments", which we now know as the Doctrine and Covenants.

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

Yesterday, in a family discussion we talked about how in this dispensation we are blessed with more knowledge and additional keys then previous dispensations.

The reasoning, is that this dispensation is preparing the world for the Lord’s second coming.

One thing I am grateful for is the knowledge that we have that the Heavens are not closed, but that they are open, and our prophets lead us by way of revelation. The Doctrine and Covenants is testament of that. How inspired Joseph Smith and early Saints were, to turn the revelations into a book, that would benefit all Saints. It is marvelous to me, that we can read and study these revelations and apply them into our own lives.

Ponder on your own study this year, how has your testimony been strengthened from studying this book of revelations?

Day 2:

Often times because a leader is called of God we hold them to a higher bar, sometimes almost expecting perfection out of them. I love this talk by President Eyring, because it reassures us that the Lord’s leaders are not perfect, not even His prophets.

In this week’s study, we learn about how some in Joseph Smith’s time had concerns of the imperfections in the language Joseph used to write the revelations. The Lord addresses that and explains that the revelations are full of righteousness and from Him.

For me both teachings remind me that, we do not have to be perfect to serve the Lord, we just need to be willing and do the Lord’s will. It also reminds me that we need to give each other some slack. We need to trust in the Lord and be quicker to lend our support and slower in passing judgement. All God has to work with is imperfect people, but He can take our weaknesses and help turn them into strengths♥️

Here’s a great talk:
