Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 60–62 Resources and Insights

Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 60–62 Resources and Insights,

Last week, we studied about how we have a loving Heavenly Father, who answers our prayers. That He asks of us to be patient in our afflictions. To stay steadfast and bear our burdens. One of my favorite quotes from this past week talked about how in our challenges we sometimes need to change our attitude, rather than focusing on changing our circumstances. I have found that having a grateful heart really helps us in bearing our challenges.

This week, we get to study about how the Lord is all powerful, how He desires us to make good decisions and how He encourages us to open our mouths and share the good news of His gospel!

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

Last night, being a holiday, I felt it important to focus on my family, so I’m sharing my Come, Follow Me thoughts this morning!

Have you ever had the feeling that you have something important to do? That greatness lies with in you? At times I have felt this feeling stir within my soul. In this week’s study we learn the importance of using our gifts and talents to further the work of the Lord. That the Lord desires us to lift up our voices, open our mouths and proclaim His gospel.

I love this quote by President Monson. Every single one of us, has a divine mission and we are given gifts and talents from our Heavenly father to fulfill that mission. How sad would it be, to miss out on the greatness that lies within us, because we are too worried about what others think, that we bury our talents and voices. I firmly believe that the Lord magnifies our gifts and talents as we use them, especially when we use them to further His work!! ♥️♥️

Day 2:

We all are given the same 24 hours in a day, what do we do with that time?!? In this week’s study we are told, “Thou shalt not idle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy talent that it may not be known.” D&C 60:13.

Today, I want to focus on the “idle away thy time”, because really I think it’s a message I need to hear! There is plenty of time wasted in my day.

The thought that has came to my mind lately, is we do things in our day, that we make as our priority. So I found it very fitting that the quote that stood out to me in my study, focused on priorities.

What are our priorities? I know, I need to be much better at aligning my priorities with my Heavenly Fathers! Are we spending time in the scriptures, are we remembering to pray? Are we keeping our covenants and remembering our Savior? Are we spending our time in service and in using our talents? It can be overwhelming when we start thinking about it. But a lot of these things are small and simple things, that only take up a moment of our day. We can pray to our Heavenly Father to know which things to place more focus on.

The spirit and our Heavenly Father prompt us to do better. Their feelings and thoughts are to inspire us, to live up to our potential. The adversary gives us feelings of guilt and despair. My hope is that we might be inspired to set out focus on Christ and to align our priorities with those things that will bring us eternal blessings ♥️

Day 3:

I believe that the Lord is merciful! He tells us in this week’s study, “I, the Lord, forgive sins, and am merciful unto those who confess their sins with humble hearts;” (D&C 61:2)

I have a testimony of our Savior’s atonement, His mercy and power to forgive sin. I know that as we humbly turn to Him, we will be forgiven.

It breaks my heart to think that anyone would feel like that they are too unworthy to turn to the Savior! My experience is that His love for us is perfect, He has suffered and paid the price for us! Repentance is progression.

Let me say that again, REPENTANCE IS PROGRESSION. If we don’t partake of the blessings of Christ’s atonement, then we are stagnant and aren’t progressing. I am grateful that we can continually partake of the atonement. That we can repent as often as needed, that it is a part of our progression and becoming like our Father. Repentance frees us from those chains that the adversary wants to hold us down with. Repentance brings peace and joy to our hearts. I testify, that our Savior is ALWAYS there!! I always loved the sang, that if you feel unworthy to pray, then that is when you should drop to your knees and pray.

Day 4:

The Lord promises that He is in our midst. You guys, I know this to be true!! I know that He is always there. I know that His love for us is so immense and so perfect.

In my difficulties He has been there, I have felt of His love, received strength, as well as comfort during difficult times!

I found this wonderful article! Take a minute and read through it this week:

Day 5:

Something I’ve noticed while working in my yard, is how important it is to stay on top of the weeding. Last year, I had let some grass over grow into my berms & when this spring rolled around I had a M-E-S-S. The weeds had taken deep root and had spread into some of my flowers. The only way to get rid of the weeds, was to spray the whole thing including my flowers. Wait for them to die and then pull them all out.

I think that temptation and sin can have some similarities to these weeds. If I had been more watchful last year and had sprayed the weeds or pulled them out just as they started to grow, then I wouldn’t have had the issues and I wouldn’t have lost plants. In our lives we must be watchful and pray always, prayer invites the spirit into our lives, which can help us rid ourselves of those little weeds of temptations. Sin is when those temptations take root. If we let them grow and don’t take care of them, there can be more work that has to take place to rid ourselves of them. It’s much easier to pull baby weeds, then more mature weeds. Our Savior is always there, no matter how big those weeds get in our lives. He is there to help us rid ourselves of them.

I loved this quote that I found tonight in my study. What I love about it is we have the power to shut temptation out of our lives. I loved this, “Satan cannot open the door from outside.”

Day 6:

I am a firm believer that the things we go through in this life can help us to be better equipped to empathize with and to help others. I think that empathy and charity are two of the most important attributes we can develop.

From my trials, I have learned to exercise faith in my Savior and Hist atonement. I have learned to trust in my Heavenly Father and in His plan and in His timing.
I have learned that comfort and peace come as we turn to our Father and Savior. I’ve learned to be more understanding, more empathetic, more loving and more forgiving.

I think that the adversary wants us to feel alone in our trials, he wants us to feel like no one can understand, he places that heavy weight upon us, trying to hold us down in despair. But, Christ is light, He is hope, He is peace and He is always available to us and for us. I wish everyone had that knowledge. He loves us, I know He does, I have felt of His great love.

In this week’s study we are asked to ponder on “when the Lord helped you overcome spiritual or physical adversity.”

I encourage you to do so, remembering these things for me, strengthens my testimony. The Holy Ghost, really is such a wonderful gift from our Father! I’m grateful for the powerful witness of truth he is in my life. I am also grateful for the comfort he has been to me as well!!

Here’s a great article,
