Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 30-36 Resources and Insights

Come, Follow Me 2021 Doctrine and Covenants 30-36 Resources and Insights,

Last week our study was focused on our Savior and his atonement, death and resurrection. We also focuses a little bit on preparing for General Conference and the importance of hearkening to the Lord's prophets.

This week, we are going to study revelations give to Parley P. Pratt, Thomas B. Marsh, Orson Pratt, and Edward Partridge. We learn that we do not have to be seasoned in the gospel to be called to do His work. We also learn of the importance of family relationships and building our lives upon Christ's gospel.

Throughout this blog post you will find images I create daily, which I am offering as free printables. As well as insights and links to resources to help with individual, family and even class room study. Remember to check back throughout the week as more printables and resources are added daily.

Day 1:

In this week’s study the Lord told David that he didn’t rely upon Him for strength as he should.
The thing is, our Savior is always there! He is our source for strength and comfort. Why is it that we sometimes forget that? Why do we sometimes turn to the world for support or strength or answers.

Something I learned during conference, was that the answer is always, focus on and turn to, Christ! 😊♥️😊

Here’s a couple links to some great resources:

Day 2:

One thing I love about verse 11 of D&C 30, are these words, “for I am with you.” The Lord is with us when we participate in His work.

We discussed tonight as a family how ministering is a part of the Lord’s work. I loved this quote from Elder Holland!! Look at all we can do to help those around us & to do the Lord’s work.

One thing I was thinking about & I believe it was brought up in General Conference is the importance of praying as we minister to others. Praying for them and praying to know what they need and the best way to minister to them. I think anytime we are participating in the Lord’s work, we should pray for the Lord’s help.

It’s my hope that I am open and aware of the promptings of the Holy Ghost and that when those promptings come, I act promptly upon them. ♥️

Here is a great place where I found a bunch of great quotes, including Elder Holland’s:

Day 3:

I love the revelation given to Thomas Marsh found in D&C 31! I know as a mom I worry about my family members, I want them to be happy, safe and healthy. I want to be the best mom for my boys! I love that in this revelation the Lord basically tells Thomas to not worry. To be faithful and engage in the Lord’s work. I also loved the advice of patience and governing his home in meekness.

I think this revelation is pertinent to us as well. We too have been asked to participate in the gathering. We can do so in faith. We too should govern our homes in meekness and patience. Such great counsel. We discussed how as family members, we are also each children of our Father in Heaven and He really wants us to treat each other with kindness and patience ♥️

What was your take away from Section 31?

I found a great article about temperance & patience, here’s the link:

Day 4:

LOVE THIS SCRIPTURE!!! 😍 If you want to build a firm foundation, immerse yourself in the scriptures. Invite the Holy Ghost into your life & feel of his witness!

I’m grateful for the instructions and answers I receive from the scriptures! My heart is filled with more peace and more happiness the days that I study and ponder on the Lord’s words!

How does studying the scriptures help you remain firm in the gospel?

DAY 5:

Tonight, I asked my kids this question from the Come, Follow Me manual, “How are we doing as a family at focusing on the things of God rather than “the things of the earth”?” We had one of the best discussions we’ve had in a while.

I loved hearing about the things they thought we were doing well at as a family, one of those things being, daily family discussions and learning. I loved hearing about what they are doing in their individual lives to keep a focus on the things of God & on the Savior.

I loved discussing what we could do better, as well as repentance and progression and how we can daily evaluate our lives, so we can always be progressing.

One thing I am grateful for is daily family and personal prayers. I loved this quote about how prayer can help us keep our Father in our mind and heart ♥️ As we keep Him in our mind and heart then we will be able to keep that focus on the things that are of Him!

I invite you to ask the same question from the manual to your family. 😊💕

Here’s an excellent BYU talk I found about being spiritually minded,
“To Be Spiritually Minded Is Life and Peace”

Day 6:

You might ask yourself, why is it important for me to “lift up my voice”? This phrase was said twice in a revelation to Orson Pratt.  So, it must be important, right?!

My thoughts are, someone, somewhere, needs to hear your voice. They need to hear you share, your experiences, your testimony, your praises of our Heavenly Father. Maybe it’s to bring someone into the Lord’s church, or maybe it’s to strengthen a testimony, or to sustain someone during a trial.

For me, the gospel is so glorious, it’s such an important part of my life. My Savior is everything to me & my knowledge of my Heavenly Father and His love, has helped me through my hardest trials. It makes me so sad to think that there are people, lots and lots of people who do not have this knowledge! It makes me want to shout it out so the whole world can hear!!

So, I use this platform, to try and lift up my voice, to praise my Father in Heaven and His plan, to point all who read unto Christ and to share my testimony of this glorious gospel!!
Tomorrow is fast Sunday for some, it’s a great time to lift up your voice & share what you believe!

Here is a great talk I got the quote from:

Three Sisters
