2018 Sharing Time Outline Theme: I am a Child of God

November 2018 Sharing Time Topic: We Are to Thank God in All Things

November 2018 Song: Consider singing songs that reinforce what you teach. This month some of those songs might be “Children All Over the World” (CS, 16–17), “For Health and Strength” (CS, 21), “I Think the World Is Glorious” (CS, 230), “My Heavenly Father Loves Me” (CS, 228–29), and “Thanks to Our Father” (CS, 20).

November Week 4 Topic: We should thank Heavenly Father for all our blessings

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Discuss with the primary children the things they learned the previous week and how they applied it into their lives.

Begin sharing time by, showing the week's theme poster and inviting the primary children to repeat, "We should thank Heavenly Father for all our blessings"

Explain to the primary children that throughout the month we have been discussing the many things that our Heavenly Father gives us and how we can thank him for those things.

We read in Psalms 92:1 "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name"

Our Heavenly Father loves us so much, it is important for us to recognize all of the things in our lives that he has blessed us with and to give thanks to Him.

How do we give thanks to our Heavenly Father?? We thank Him as we say our prayers and express gratitude to Him for the specific things He has given us. We show thanks to Him as we keep His commandments.

Give each of the primary children a heart (see free download below), invite them to write on the heart some things that they are grateful to their Heavenly Father for. Remind the primary children that this month we learned about being thankful for our Body, for temporal blessings and for spiritual blessings. ALL that we have is a blessing from our Heavenly Father.

Invite the primary children to come up and share some of the things they are grateful to their Heavenly Father for.

Or instead of inviting them up, you could sing "I Thank Thee, Dear Father", "Thank Thee for Everything" or "I Am Glad for Many Things". Pass around a heart (see bean bag heart below) as you sing the song, stop at times during the song. When you stop, whoever is holding the heart, needs to share something they wrote down that they are grateful for.

Close by sharing your testimony of being thankful to our Heavenly Father for our blessings. Encourage the primary children to say and show thanks to their Heavenly Father throughout the week.
