2018 Sharing Time Outline Theme: I am a Child of God

November 2018 Sharing Time Topic: We Are to Thank God in All Things

November 2018 Song: Consider singing songs that reinforce what you teach. This month some of those songs might be “Children All Over the World” (CS, 16–17), “For Health and Strength” (CS, 21), “I Think the World Is Glorious” (CS, 230), “My Heavenly Father Loves Me” (CS, 228–29), and “Thanks to Our Father” (CS, 20).

November Week 3 Topic: I am thankful for spiritual blessings.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Discuss with the primary children what they learned the previous week and the things they did to apply it into their lives throughout the week.

Show the primary children the week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "I am thankful for spiritual blessings"

Show he primary children the picture of our Savior. Explain to the primary children that Heavenly Father and Jesus love them each so much! They want to pour down blessings upon us.

Show the video, "A Shower of Heavenly Blessings"

Discuss with the primary children what stood out to them in the video? (discussion might include, that Heavenly Father wants to give us spiritual blessings, but sometimes we do things that prevent him from giving us those blessings. We can live our lives in a way that we can receive those spiritual blessings that he wants to give us)

Have rain drops on the board, explain that on the raindrops are some of the spiritual blessings that are Heavenly Father wants to pour down upon us.

Invite a primary child to come up an choose one of the rain drops. Read it and discuss this spiritual blessing with the primary children.

Continue until each of the rain drops have been discussed.  (See printable below for the rain drops and see list below for examples of ways to discuss each spiritual blessing)

There is also a blank rain drop printable, that could be printed and colored by the primary children. You could read Moroni 10:8-7 and have them write down spiritual blessings on their rain drops, then discuss them. Just another option.

Close by sharing your testimony of spiritual blessings and encourage the primary children to keep the commandments throughout the week so their Heavenly Father can pour down those spiritual blessings upon them. Have them think about those spiritual blessings that they have throughout the week.

***************************
Spiritual Blessings:

The Holy Ghost- the Holy Ghost is one of the most precious spiritual blessings that our Heavenly Father gives us. Through the Holy Ghost we can receive a witness of our Heavenly Father and Savior and he can teach us the truth of all things. All other gifts or blessings we receive through the spirit.

Knowledge given to us through The Book of Mormon- As we read and study the Book of Mormon we can gain knowledge, we can receive answers to the questions we might have and we can be taught of the Savior.

Faith- Faith is a spiritual blessing. It is the first principle of the gospel. We can live by faith, trusting in our Heavenly Father and His plan.

Priesthood Blessings- We can receive blessings of healing, as well as Father's Blessings. It is a spiritual blessing to be able to give blessings as well as to have the faith to receive blessings.

Teach by the Spirit- It is a spiritual blessing to be able to teach the gospel by the spirit. As we prepare and learn about the gospel we can invite the spirit into our lives to help us teach others.

Revelation- We believe that our Heavenly Father still communicates with us. He reveals those things that are important to the church through our prophets. He gives us personal revelation for our own lives.

  2. Your lesson was so inspired! When I read the scriptures in the lesson I was confused myself and didn't think I could teach this doctrine simply enough for a child to understand it. Thank you so much for your blog!

  6. Thank you so much! I printed it off yesterday and there were 91 people in the document. You helped a lot of people! We had a really great experience in Senior primary from this lesson and the kids came up with other spiritual blessings of repentance, atonement, temple sealings, and such. It all sparked from the discussion and the video. Thank you!
