2018 Sharing Time Outline Theme: I am a Child of God

August 2018 Sharing Time Topic: Heavenly Father Hears and Answers My Prayers

August 2018 Song: “A Child’s Prayer” (CS, 12–13)

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ!  (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes)

Sharing Time Instruction:

Begin Sharing Time, by showing the primary children the week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "Heavenly Father wants me to pray to Him often—anytime, anywhere."

Explain to the primary children that our Heavenly Father loves us so much, that he wants to hear from us often! We can pray to him when??? Anytime and Anywhere!

For the activity, we are going to share stories of prayer, showing that we truly can pray to our Heavenly Father Anytime and Anywhere.

Break the primary children into 5 groups. Give each group a story (see links to stories below). Invite each group to read their story as a group and discuss where and when the person in the story prayed. Then invite each group to summarize their story to the rest of the primary and what they learned about prayer from the story.

Explain that no matter where we are are can pray to our Heavenly Father, He always hears and answers our prayers.

If time remains invite the primary children to share examples of when they were able to pray to their primary children, anytime and anywhere.

Close by sharing your testimony about prayer.

Here are the links to the stories:

"Alpacas on the Loose!"

"The Bear Cave"

“Chief on the Run”

“Elevator Prayers”

If you need a 6th group for large primaries:
