2016 LDS Sharing Time Ideas for November Week 1: Reverence is love and respect for God.

2016 Sharing Time Outline Theme: "I Know the Scriptures Are True"

November 2016 Sharing Time Topic: Reverence Is Love and Respect for God

November 2016 Scripture: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matthew 22:37).

November 2016 Song:  Your Choice

November Week 1 Topic: Reverence is love and respect for God.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The BEST thing is to always teach by the Spirit.

Sharing Time Instruction:

Before Sharing Time print out the Reverence cards and place each letter randomly on the board.  To begin sharing time, explain that we need to unscramble the letters to form a word that means, Respect and Love of God. Invite some primary children to come up and help you unscramble the letters to form the word.

When the word "Reverence" is formed, show the primary children the week's theme poster and invite the primary children to repeat, "Reverence is Love and Respect of God".

Invite the primary children to sing the song, "Reverence is Love". Invite the primary children to listen carefully to what the song says about reverence.

Ask the primary children to explain to you what reverence is. Explain that reverence is how we show our love and respect for our Heavenly Father and Jesus.  Explain that in the next activity we are going to share examples of who we show that respect and love.

Show the primary children the dice, explain that on the dice it gives different situations, where we could show reverence to Heavenly Father and Jesus. Invite a primary child to come up and toss the dice onto the floor. Whatever it lands on, they need to act out how they would show reverence in that situation.  For younger children invite, an older child to come up and help them act it out. Discuss each situation as a group. (Situations: At Home, At Church, During the Sacrament, With Friends, During Prayer, At the temple)

Close by sharing your testimony on how reverence for God allows the Spirit to be with us to teach us and help us feel closer to Heavenly Father.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that these ideas were helpful. Below are the other topics for the months as well as more ideas and resources.  I'd love for you to check out my InstagramFacebook and Pinterest pages and see if there's anything on there you like!
