LDS Sharing Time Ideas December Week 3: Jesus Christ will return to the earth someday.

2015 Sharing Time Outline Theme: "I Know My Savior Lives"

December 2015 Sharing Time Topic: I Know That My Redeemer Lives

December 2015 Scripture: “And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!” (D&C 76:22).

December Week 3 Topic: Jesus Christ will return to the earth someday.

Free Printables:

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:

Begin by showing the primary children the nativity (you could show the picture, bring a nativity from home, here are some nativity ideas: Paper Nativity, 2x4 nativity).  Ask the Primary children this question, "WHY was Jesus' birth so important?"  Allow the children to share their answers and thank them for their participation.

Show a picture of Isaiah, explain that it was so important that prophets prophesied about it.

Show the picture of the angels proclaiming Christ birth, explain that it was so important that angels proclaimed his birth.

Why was His birth so important? Because of what He would be able to do with his life.

Show a picture of Jesus. Ask the primary children what did Jesus do during his life here on earth?  Explain that He was the best example we could have. He went about his life doing his Father's will. He loved others, served them, healed them, and taught them.

Show a picture of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane. Ask the primary children, what did Christ do in this picture?  Explain that the Savior was the only one who could do this. He was the only one who could atone for the sins of the world. He did this because he loves us and wants us to have a way to repent so we can return to him and Heavenly Father. He suffered for every pain, every heartache, every sin and sorrow. He is our Savior.

Show a picture of the Crucifixion and resurrection. Ask the primary children, why is it important that the Savior died and was resurrected?  Explain that the Savior's death and resurrection makes it possible for our resurrection and eternal life. It fulfills the Father's plan.

Show the children the Week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "Jesus Christ will return to the earth someday."

Two options for the rest:
Printout whichever printable you are planning on using and write one of the questions on each piece.

Christ returns to the world someday puzzle:

Place the puzzle pieces on the board and invite a primary child to come up and pick one of the puzzle pieces. Invite them to read the question on the back if they can, if not you can read it for them.  It might be a good idea to also read the scriptures that goes with each one. Ask the rest of the primary the question, discuss the answer. Invite the child to place the puzzle piece on the board where they think it would go.  Continue with each piece until the puzzle is put together.

Christmas tree and ornaments:  Draw a large Christmas tree on the board.  Place the ornaments to the side and invite a primary child to come up and choose an ornament.  Invite them to read the question on the back if they can, if not you can read it for them. It might be a good idea to also read the scriptures that goes with each one. Ask the rest of the primary the question, discuss the answer. Invite the child to place the ornament on the tree. Continue until all of the ornaments have been placed on the tree.

Questions and References (Questions and references came for 2015 Sharing Time Outline):
** Emphasize that the second coming is an exciting time, if we prepare ourselves we do not need to fear the coming of the Savior.**
Close by sharing your testimony.
