November 2015 Sharing Time Topic: When We Serve Others, We Serve God

November 2015 Scripture: “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God” (Mosiah 2:17).

November Week 3 Topic: When I serve my family, I serve God.

Preparation:

Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.

Sharing Time Instruction:

Divide the board into 6 sections. Invite the primary children to share with you the different people who are considered family members: example: Parents, Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and Cousins.  Write each of these into a section.  Show the primary children the week theme poster and invite them to repeat, "When I serve my family, I serve God"  At the top of the board place this poster. 

Give each of the children a paper that has the categories on it. Invite them to write or draw in each category something that they can do to help or serve that family member.  Give the kids about 5 minutes to do so. 

Invite the primary children to share some ideas of how they can help to serve their family members, write these ideas on the board under each category. For example, start with the parent category and ask the children to share ways they could serve their parents, write these ideas on the board. Then move onto the next category. 

Close by explaining to the children that as they serve their family members they are also serving Heavenly Father. We are showing our love for our family members as well as Heavenly Father. Our homes will be happier as we serve each other. Share your testimony on the topic.
