A bunch of friends crafting all morning and into the afternoon, what could make for a better Saturday!!
I was approached and asked to do a crochet class for our ward Relief Society's Super Saturday. Of course I said, yes! I was torn with what to teach. It needed to be a craft that didn't take a lot of time to do and would be easy enough for beginners. I finally decided on doing bracelets.
Here are the fun designs I came up with:

Chalkboard Easels by Amy @ Hertoolbelt.com
These easels were the highlight of the day! I can not believe the time she spent, cutting them all out and prepping them for us to put them all together!! I love my chalkboard sign!! Many painted theirs, I used a stain on mine which made it super quick! I love stains :)

Birthday Cards by Lindsey Heitz
I am so lucky to have so many extremely creative and talented friends!!! Lindsey is the card making master. A few years back she gave me a packet of cards for my birthday, it was the best gift ever!! Here is a sample of some of the cards she made and had available for us to make at the Super Saturday. Each kit came with 7 cards and envelopes. You could choose from Birthday or Miscellaneous Packs. Unfortunately she does not have a website, so let me know if you have any questions.

ReplyDeleteThanks Alia for joining in!! You'll have to tell your activity day leaders about it, and have the girls do the finger crochet. :)
DeleteThe recycled mittens is a great idea! I was showing my daughter your scope about making the bracelets- they can crochet at school during one part of class so she is going to start making these.
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun that they get to crochet during class! So fun :)
DeleteThanks, Kim for the great ideas! I LOVE the chalkboard easel, so cute! The last time we did a Super Saturday we combined with several wards. We had several classes they could choose to attend (Family History, Digital Scrapbooking, etc.), then a yummy lunch, and then crafts. I love super Saturday!
ReplyDeleteA multi ward one would be fun, lots of work, but fun ;) I love my chalkboard easel!! So grateful I have talented friends wiling to share their talents!
DeleteThese are so cute! I wish my ward did Super Saturdays! I live in an old people ward and they don't care!
ReplyDeleteOh man, really!! I love Super Saturdays :)
