Preparation:
Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.
Sharing Time Instruction:
Before Sharing Time place a set of scriptures in a gift bag. Explain to the children that in the bag is a very precious gift. This gift was given to us by our Heavenly Father. This gift will help our love for our Savior, Jesus Christ grow. For this gift to bless us we must do something. We must study it. Invite the children to share with you what they believe is in the bag. Pull the scriptures out and place them on the table. Show the children to Week's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "My love for Jesus Christ grows when I study the scriptures. "
Invite the children to play a game of tick, tack, toe. Using the printable above, have one side of the room be hearts and the other side of the room be the picture of the Savior. Draw a tic tac toe grid on the board like the image to the left. Choose which side goes first by asking the children to fill in the blank to this phrase, "If ye love me, keep my______________.) First side to answer goes first. The team who goes first will need to look up one of the scriptures below and tell how that scripture can help their love for Jesus grow. After they answer, they can come and place their tic tac toe piece whether they be heart or Savior picture on the board in one of the tic tac toe spaces. Then it will be the other teams turn to read their scripture and share their thoughts about how their love for the Savior grows from that scripture. They will then place their piece in one of the spaces, and it will be the other teams turn. The game continues until one of the teams gets tic tac toe, three in a row. ***note... for younger kiddos you could use picture and have them share what they know about the scripture story of that picture. I have shared the pictures also below with their coordinating scripture***
