April 2015 Sharing Time Topic: Jesus Christ Restored the Fulness of the Gospel through Joseph Smith
April Week 2 Topic: Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God.

Preparation:
Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine.
Sharing Time Instruction
Place a picture of Joseph Smith on the board along with the week poster. Invite the children to sing, "The Golden Plates" pg 86 of the Children's Songbook. Explain that after Joseph Smith received the gold plates he needed to translate them. Explain that the plates were written in an ancient language one that Joseph Smith could not read. By the power of God Joseph Smith was able to translate the plates into a language that we would be able to read and understand. Invite the children to repeat, "Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God."
Give each class one of the "Translate the Phrase" printables. See printables above. When the classes are done translating their phrases invite someone from each class to come up one at a time and explain what paper says.
Invite the primary children to share their feelings about the Book of Mormon.
Close by sharing your testimony on the topic.

DeleteHi! On Translate sheet 4, the U in Thummim is off... just so you know! It is a V instead of a U. Minor thing though.. Love these. Thank you for posting!

DeleteThese are fantastic! I love coming here and getting extra ideas that I don't think of. Also, I hate to be "miss grammar" snob but for the first phrase, "Fulness" should be spelled with one "L" instead of two. We had a funny debate over this as a presidency. But Fulness with one "L" is only used in Christian terms. Thanks so much again!
