Sharing Time Instruction Ideas:

Starting in 2015 I wanted to try something a little new. After much thought I though it would be beneficial to not only share my free printables and some ideas for these Sharing Times, but also post some links to some other great ideas.  I will list my stuff first and then place links to others.  This is where you come in.  If you post sharing time ideas on your blog and would like a link placed on here please send me an e-mail with the link to lifesjourneytoperfection@gmail.com. You can also leave a comment below sharing your ideas. This way everyone can participate! Excited to read your ideas!

Begin sharing time by drawing a large circle on the board with the words, Premortal Life written on the circle or you could use the printable above.  Ask the children where they lived before the came to earth?  Explain that each of us lived in heaven or the premortal life with our Heavenly Father.

Invite a primary child to read the following scripture: Malachi 2:10 "Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?..."  Invite the children to tell you who the father of their spirit is?  Place the poster, "God is the Father of my spirit" on the board and invite the primary children to repeat it with you.  Ask the children what does that mean?

Show the children a glove, place it on your hand.  Explain that the glove is like our body and the hand is like our spirit. Explain that our spirit is what gives us life, it is who we are.  Explain that when we lived in Heaven (premortal life) our Heavenly Father created each of our spirits. Each one of us are his spirit children.  Invite the children to look at the person to each side of them. Ask the children, do we all look the same?  No, each one of us are different, but each one of us are God's spirit children. We are all part of our Heavenly Father's family.

Explain to the children that our Heavenly Father loves us so much that he wanted us to learn and grow and to become more like him, so he sent each of us to earth to gain a body. Because he loves us so much he sent us to families. Sing the primary song, "I am a Child of God" with the children and have them think about what the song says our earthly family can help us do. After the song discuss their thoughts about what the song says.

Invite the primary children to think about how much their parents and family love them.  Now invite them to think about how much their Heavenly Father must love them! Invite the children to share their testimonies and feeling about their Heavenly Father's love for them.

Close by sharing your testimony.
