Sharing Time Instruction:

Begin sharing time by explaining to the children that you have a very dear friend, a close companion that you would like to talk about today.  Explain that this companion does not have a body of flesh and bones, that he is a spirit.  He comforts us when we are scared or sad, he guides us through trials and prompts us to make right choices.  He is a part of the God Head, and works in perfect unity with Heavenly Father and Jesus. Ask the children if they know who you are speaking of?  Explain that your close companion is the Holy Ghost. Explain that when you were baptized and then confirmed a member of the church you received the Holy Ghost as your constant companion.

Show the children a radio. Ask them what they would need to do if they wanted to listen to a certain station? Explain that they would need to tune into that station. Explain that the Holy Ghost works the same way, we need to be in-tune, or in other words, living our life the right way so we can hear/feel the Holy Ghost.

Hold up the poster and have the children repeat, "The Holy Ghost comforts and guides me."

Explain that you are going to tell them a story about a little girl: Read or tell the story to the children: "I Felt the Holy Ghost", BY YICHEN, AGE 6, TAIWAN, June 2014 Friend Magazine.

Show the children a blanket. Explain that just like the girl in the story and like a blanket, the Holy Ghost is there to comfort us. To help us feel peace and warmth.

Explain that the Holy Ghost is also their to guide us.  Invite one of the primary children to come up and place a blindfold around his/her head, covering his/her eyes.  Make a simple obstacle course in the front of the room. Invite one of the teachers to come up and three more primary children.  Explain that the teacher is going to speak softly and guide the blindfolded child through the course. Explain that in the world it can be hard to hear the Holy Ghost because of there being so many distractions. Explain that you are going to have the three other children standing along side the course, trying to distract the blind folded child.  One child could say, "Hey come watch this movie, it is so cool". The other two children could be arguing with each other, "That game is mine, you can't play it" the other says, "You said I could play it earlier".  Explain that the blindfolded child will need to listen very closely to the soft voice to make it through the course.

When he/she makes it through the course, ask him/her about his/her experience.

Invite the children to sing, "The Still Small Voice" Children's Songbook pg 106

Close by sharing your testimony on the weeks topic.
