June 2014 Visit Teaching Message: The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Minister

June 2014 Relief Society Visit Teaching Message: The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Minister

We could not have had a better example then our elder brother, Jesus Christ.  He was the perfect example of one who went about his life ministering to others.  To minister means that you tend to the needs of others as defined in the online dictionary.  So in other words to minister means to serve.  Jesus served everyone and he asked us to serve/minister to others also,

"25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." - Matthew 20:25-28

I think that our Heavenly Father knew that allowing us to serve each, would bring us a kind of happiness that we could not gain any other way.  When we go about our day praying and looking for those who are in need, then we are less focused on our selves. Frankly, it just makes you feel good to know that you have done something to lighten another's load, or something that has brought happiness to another.  It is in our divine nature to want to see other's happy.

The great thing is that serving or ministering could be so simple, it is simply seeing another in need and filling that need.  How many people's day could be made a little brighter with a kind word or gesture?

  2. John Price- If you click on the image it should bring it up in a larger view, from there you should be able to save the image to your computer as a jpg file. Then you should be able to print it directly from your computer just like any other image/photo. I just tried it and it worked on my computer. Let me know if you have any further questions and problems with it. Thanks for your comment and I hope this solves the issue :)

  4. Ginagte-

    This particular magnifying glass was one my son has had for a while. A good place to find them are the dollar store, hardware store like Harbor Freight, or even a store like Walmart usually carries them.
