June '09 VTM: Participate in Sincere Prayer

I really enjoyed this months visit teaching message! Prayer is such a big part of my life. It is such a blessing to be able to speak with my Father in Heaven. I do not know how people make it through the day without having prayer and the gospel in their lives. I loved how Pres. Faust spoke of prayer. To really think about how humbling prayer is. Our Father in Heaven is the one person that we totally let our guard down to. He is the one that we expose all of our weeknesses to. I love how Pres. Faust says, "...it is recognition that we need help beyond our own ability." This is so true. I know that I need the Lord's help in my life and I am so grateful that I am able to pray for that help and am also grateful that I am able to express my gratitude for him and all that he has blessed us with. I think that Elder McConkie says it best, "Prayer changes our lives....Prayer is a great tower of strength, a pillar of unending righteousness, a mighty force that moves mountains and saves souls”.
